I just passed my 1st anniversary of my first job in tech. After a pretty grueling year of night school while working full time with two young kids, I’ve been loving learning and growing in this new job/career and putting some distance between me and some not ideal experiences at my last job.
I’m rediscovering free time and exploring how I like to spend it. Right now that looks like enjoying some good books and video games again for the first time in a while and also getting back to working on personal projects, like setting up my own cloud backup for photos or finishing this website.
Another thing I’m exploring right now is something I’ve flirted with for a long time: setting up a small social network for me and my friends. I intentionally don’t use the big social apps, but still want a way to share stuff with people and I’m really interested in how smaller socials might help with many of the inherent problems larger sites have.
