Muting

Muting allows you to hide a specific user’s posts from your timeline without unfollowing them or blocking them. The person will not have any way to know you’ve muted them.

1. Go to the profile of the user you want to mute.
2. Click on the three dots button on the top right corner of the user's profile.
3. Select "Mute" from the drop-down menu.
4. A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm the mute. Click "Mute" to confirm.

Blocking

Blocking a user prevents them from being able to interact with your account, including seeing your posts, following you, or sending you messages. The will be able to know that you’ve blocked them.

1. Go to the profile of the user you want to block.
2. Click on the three dots button on the top right corner of the user's profile.
3. Select "Block" from the drop-down menu.
4. A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm the block. Click "Block" to confirm.

Filtering unwanted content

Creating a filter allows you to hide alls posts containing specific keywords or phrases from your timelines. This does not block or mute any specific users, it effectively just mutes any content containing your keywords or phrases.

1. Go to your account settings.
2. Scroll down to the "Filters" section.
3. Create a new filter with the keywords or phrases you want to block.
4. Save the filter.
5. From then on, any toots containing the keywords or phrases you specified will be hidden from your timeline.
